Ubud, Bali ~ Indonesia. Alaya Resort Ubud takes great pleasure to announce that it has been voted ‘Eco-Hotel/Resort of the Year’ in the prestigious AsiaSpa Awards 2016. In winning this award, the resort has been acknowledged for its pursuit of excellence and for striving to raise the bar in the region’s thriving wellness industry.

AsiaSpa is a luxury lifestyle and travel publication dedicated to the pursuit of complete well-being. As the essential guide to pampering and wellness, it highlights the latest destinations, sanctuaries, spa treatments, yoga retreats and beauty trends.

The 12th annual AsiaSpa Awards took place on 16th November 2016 at WOOBAR in W Hong Kong, and this glamorous occasion was attended by representatives from some of the region’s most outstanding brands. The 2016 Awards honoured nominees, industry icons and invited guests, for an evening themed ‘Eternal Beauty’.

A panel of 21 judges selected the best in the business across 24 categories. Awards were presented to spas, hotels and resorts and the exquisite trophies were provided by Baccarat. The AsiaSpa Awards is an annual event that sets a benchmark for spas and resorts in the region, as well as around the world. It recognizes innovation and quality within the spa industry and duly rewards those who aim for perfection.

DaLa Spa at Alaya Resort Ubud was also shortlisted in two categories as ‘Spa of the Year for the Southeast Asia and Pacific region’ as well as ‘Eco-Spa of the Year’. Although DaLa Spa was not fortunate enough to be chosen as overall winner, the privilege of being nominated alongside well-established spa venues within the region was an achievement in its own right.
